Why? The plot went nowhere. The characters can't think their way out of a wet paper bag. And they're hoarding a supremely talented cast without getting close to tapping into their full potential. Being a fan of any actor tied to the show is difficult enough, but realizing AMC will continue to lock them in this lazy-television limbo is so utterly frustrating; the best option was to become an ostrich and get real cozy with a sand hat.
