Anyone fancy some strawberry jam? This episode took the amount of blood usually on screen and tripled it. Pretty much everyone is drenched by the time things resolve. But how does this pan out with Ash, Mr. I Don't Work With Others, left to bargain for the safety of mankind? It goes about as poorly as you think. Which while it works for the character, leaves something to be desired for a season finale.

Just when you thought the show may not be the oddest thing to hit television in the last decade, it takes a dive through a wormhole into an alternate reality. Despite the incoherency during a large portion in the episode, there's a strong story line to follow as Ash seeks the answer within himself to defeat the evil he oh-so-intelligently released. Including the beastie they released in the back of Lionel's book store.

Bait: Review for Ash vs Evil Dead 102 By A. Zombie

What I love about this show is the format. Most horror shows beef up their running time with useless stuff—looking at you, FTWD, and your thirty-minute documentary about downtown Los Angeles tacked onto every hour-plus episode. AvED has no time for that. It's thirty minutes of laughs, hacks, slashes, and grooviness. This is the show the people needed, not just wanted. It's an excellent pallet cleanser, coming at just the right moment. Horror television was in the weeds until this gem came to town.
